What’s up with the guys…
Just a quick update on what’s happening with the guys. They spoke with our volunteers on Sunday, and apologized for their stupidity back in July. Our volunteers are also our pastors…so they both had a few things to say. I think at first the guys were a bit casual about the situation, but once Jorge started talking (I didn’t follow everything he said) things got serious in a hurry. So that’s good. =) It’d be good to have your prayers on this…most of the guys are responding in a mature way, but one of the guys still seems to be pushing back a bit. I don’t want to have to come down on him even harder. That would be lame.
I had a good conversation with my co-worker here, Marcee, today. She brought up some good points about balancing God’s grace with a good dose of understanding God’s anger as well…but in a healthy Biblical way. That’s the problem, I think…the boys have been presented with God’s anger a lot in the past (as I said earlier) but not in a Biblical way. So the challenge is…how do I help them understand God’s anger at our sin, but in the context of a God who also loves them and has compassion for them. I do think I was able to communicate my anger this week, in a way that still reinforced my compassion for them. Wether they made that connection to God’s character or not….well, the jury’s still out on that. I guess we’ll see.
Random thoughts…my truck arrives today but it’ll be four days more before I can get plates on it. So much for 15 minutes at SGI.
And I’m back to the doctor this afternoon about my neck. As I said before, it creaks and cracks a lot more than it ever did before, and I’ve been getting a lot of headaches lately. For sure it’s better than it was though. But if I’m sitting up for too long, it definitely starts to ache.
Thanks for praying for these things. I can tell that summer is starting to wind down in Canada…the readership of my blog is starting to inch back up. =)
Have a good one…
